Nidecker Score 2017-2018 Snowboard Review | The Snowboard Asylum

The Score has been the stalwart of the Nidecker line for many seasons now. It’s versatile all mountain freestyle design has evolved over the years, ensuring that this great performing board continues to dominate the market for riders who are looking for a fun, easy going all terrain snowboard. Able to handle any type of riding and any type of terrain, the Score offers stunning value for money.

Utilising a directional twin chassis with a 2cm setback on the stance, and featuring Nidecker’s award winning CamRock profile, it delivers a versatile ride across all disciplines. The buttery round profile tip and tail give you that forgiving and predictable feel for when you want to play around in the park, whilst the combination of that set back stance and rocker profile at the tips gives great float for when you want to get out of bounds. Add to this the camber between the feet and the predictable radial sidecut and you’ve also got a board that works great on groomers.

Now there’s no point having this ability to ride everything on the mountain if the rest of the board isn’t up to it. Thankfully Nidecker don’t cut corners when it comes to construction, utilising materials that you’d normally only see on higher priced boards. Heading this up is the advanced Full Wood core. This lively core combines poplar with beech reinforcing in the nose and tail, stepping up pop through the length but more importantly increasing torsional stiffness at the contact points. To ensure the Score isn’t overly aggressive though, the structural layers are formed from a combination of forgiving Bi-Ax glass and the advanced composite Freeflex 1 construction in the nose and tail. This gives the Score a playful ride but without having to sacrifice all the performance. Finally, the low maintenance 5000 grade extruded base is specially created to give unrivalled wax retention and ensure that the Score delivers great performance all the time.
