The Mosquito is the shortest board in Nidecker’s new SnowSurf collection, and is aimed at those riders who are looking for a powder focused quiver board that also has the tools for blasting the piste.
Built around a powerful volume nose, short tail directional shape, the Mosquito gives you all the float you could ever need even though it’s a short board. However, it’s when you get this board on the piste that it really comes alive. Thanks to a setback 8 mm camber under the bindings and a powerful/stiff tail matched with an aggressive tight radius sidecut, the Mosquito totally defies convention and absolutely rips.
Whether laying out long carves or just ripping the fall line there’s enough grip and power here to deliver one hell of a ride.
Internally Nidecker really do push the boat out when it comes to construction, heading this up is the innovative Nidactive wood core. This combination of poplar and paulownia creates a lively yet lightweight foundation to the board. This is then matched to the structural layers which are formed from a combination of both Bi-Ax and Tri-Ax glass and deliver the perfect torsional flex for blasting the whole mountain. For such a responsive board though, the Mosquito still delivers a pretty smooth ride, this is down to the ash veneer top sheet which not only looks great but also helps absorb unwanted vibrations. Finally as with the rest of the SnowSurf collection Nidecker fit a superfast 9900 base. So put some proper binding angles on it and change you whole outlook on snowboarding forever.
