In 2007, the Dervish was the first venture into dropthrough construction and an opportunity to create a flexy, bamboo composite carver with the versatility to handle a variety of riding styles. Five years later, they revisited this flagship board with new performance aspirations in mind.

With a slightly wider platform than its predecessor, the Dervish Sama balances comfort, edge control, and responsiveness. Combined with a more pronounced concave profile, the extra width enhances turn initiation and slide control. Loaded added subtle nose and tail kicks to increase pop and lock your feet in for freestyle tricks. The neck and dropthrough cutout were also updated for increased durability under hard riding. A six-piece griptape pattern provides enhanced control at the kicks and facilitates comfortable footwork maneuvers on the standing platform without interfering with the board’s flex pattern.

Flex 1: 170-250+lbs / 75-114+kg

(Flex 1 with paris trucks & abec11 gumballs 78a)
great board.
My first loaded board and wasn’t sure about the whole flex thing- now I have one I love it!
Fantastic on the flat smooth stuff. Quiet , carves beautifully  and rolls over everything.
Couldn’t say what its like for tricks because I don’t do them but for what I want its perfect.

BC Surf And Sport says:

Out of those 3 I’d say the Dervish Sama, check it out!

T.J. Decker says:

will it allow me to go down some curbs without scratching it up on the bottom? and I am getting riser pads and shock pads.

BC Surf And Sport says:

For trucks check out Paris 180’s and Caliber Fifty. To roll over some rocks and stay glued to the road you could try the Orangatang In Heats 80A. Get shredding!

SAINTSawsm says:

well if you want to slide right out of the box you want in heats but 4 president are good speed oriented wheels but again in heats are good for sliding they are also really good wheels for speed i have 4 pres yellow (86 a) and i think they were really good wheels for cruising but if you want all of that together i would recommend fat free, stimulus, or durian they are all the same thing except for the sizes hope that helped!

m.A.A.dVillain says:

in holland this one costs 330€ thats about 430 dollars :( The gravity makai already costs 220€ (280$) D:

Hey! I´m started to get in to longboarding, and I really need your advice. I´m 14 years old, weights 100lbs, and have a loaded dervish sam a flex 3. I want to be able to have an all around board, with whom i can :
slide a little bit,
carve,
and go downhill to about max 30mph. Do you think I should keep the flex 3 or upgrade to a flex 2?

BiancaWong says:

I got my Dervish Sama from bcsurf on Amazon :) it’s my very first longboard and I practice on it almost everyday. 😛

Zakk Allen-Ryan says:

Hey, I’m looking for a new board, I am into carving and just cruising around but I’m tossing up between the loaded dervish sama, loaded vanguard or the loaded tan tien. Thanks

Zephrine Mathew says:

I want this board so bad

BC Surf And Sport says:

I’d say Flex 2. It’s not gonna be bouncing all over and the Flex1 might be a little stiff if you like a flexy board.

sunshine611531 says:

which board do you think is better for cruising tan tien or dervish sama?
Please answer

BC Surf And Sport says:

It may be a bit harder than popping a normal skateboard (larger board and weight), but the kicks on the Sama help out a lot.

Dimitar Sladić says:

so i didnt know about the difrent flexes until now i bought a used dervish sama flex 3 and i feels fine but im only 14 and already at 65kg so should i buy a new deck as soon as i can or am i fine with this one?

ciara christensen says:

Do they make nose guards for the dirvish sama?

Connor Rader says:

How much do you guys sell the board complete for. I am looking for first longboard, and don’t have a huge budget, so, I’m looking for something cheaper that is a flex2

lasseah11 says:

hey i weigh 78 kg, and i really can’t figure out if i should buy this board in flex 1 or 2.. i want to slide a bit, but i also want a good feeling when i’m carving, but i don’t know if flex 1 still gives that good feeling compared to flex 2, can somebody give some good advice?

Jensen Cox says:

For carving, cruising, and a lot of freestyle would you recommend orangatang in heats or 4 presidents?

Zackery Keech says:

I’ve recently gotten into long boarding and my friends recommend this board. I am a big dude about 270 will I have a problem with the flex 1

spencer williamson says:

I just bought my new double king pin sector 9 and i love it sooooo much takes some time to get comfy on it but it is the most fun i have had on a boadd in a long time great video and good advice and also for bearings what is a good bearing for around 30$ would u say reds or something else

Whips and tricks says:

fyra says:

hey, i weigh about 60 kg and want to cruise through cíty and to school but also want to try out some tricks and donwhill , freeride etc. it wouldnt be my first board, ive been longboarding with the globe pinner for 2 years now.

i search for a stable board, not too “trampoline-like”, but also not too stiff, like my old board.
